A SPECIAL screening of a festive classic was held in York this week.
City Screen showed the classic White Christmas for an audience of people with dementia and their families on Monday, December 18.
The screening was open to all, but specifically for people with dementia and their family, friends and carers, who joined staff at the cinema for free tea, coffee and mince pies.
The crowd was also entertained by members of the York Musical Society who performed Christmas Carols ahead of the film, which features a number of Irving Berlin classics including ‘Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep’, ‘Sisters’, ‘Blue Skies’, and ‘White Christmas’, and stars Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye.
