GLOBE-TROTTING York party band Bogus Brothers play Christmas gigs at the Royal Armouries, Leeds, on Friday and Saturday, followed by a New Year's Eve celebration there. Further shows will be at Acomb Working Men's Club, York, on December 28 and The Venue, Selby, on December 29.

Formed in York in 1986, Bogus Brothers have survived tumultuous financial times and continue to be as busy as ever, and as keyboard-playing manager Tony Williams often says: "What will be, will be. We keep surviving, we keep gigging and working as closely as we can with the client."

The British music industry may find itself in challenging times now that Brexit negotiations are underway, but this will not stop Bogus Brothers from doing what they love the most. , a as original member Nico testifies. "It’s all about giving the fans those moments to forget everything political and encourage them to party like it’s 1999. We started life in Yorkshire over 31 years ago; it’s amazing to think that the Bogus Brothers brand is now worldwide."

The peripatetic York musicians averaging between 100 and 150 shows a year, from Britain to Europe, Russia to the Caribbean. "We plough on in true British form: we keep calm and carry on," says Williams.

"Our close links to the celebrity circuit with Eddie Jordan, U2, Alex Ferguson and Andrea Corr keeps our profile high, making us one of the most sought-after acts in the country. Always ready to evolve, Bogus Brothers have learnt to be ready for anything at any time."

Before heading out on a European tour in February, the band are squeezing in this winter's Yorkshire shows. "It’s very rare for us to play hometown shows. We can’t wait to get out there and do what we do the best: party and party hard," says frontman Maka, who promises "the most exciting shows of our career so far".
