ANYONE dreaming of a white Christmas in York this year looks set for a disappointment.
The recent cold and frosty weather is set to continue for the next two nights, but milder weather is on the way from Sunday - and it looks set to continue up until at least Christmas Eve.
The Met Office is expecting temperatures to fall to zero C tonight and tomorrow night, with a further risk of ice on roads and pavements.
But temperatures are set to rise to 8C on Sunday, albeit with rain at times, as winds switch from northerly to south-westerly.
Temperatures could reach an almost balmy 11C by next Wednesday in York, and are expected to remain around 8 or 9C right up until Christmas Eve - bad news for reindeer but better for motorists driving home for Christmas.
