A CCTV image has been released of a man police want to speak to after a woman was allegedly hit in the leg by her car door during an "altercation" in York city centre.

North Yorkshire Police said the incident took place in Bridge Street shortly before 5.30pm on November 30.

A spokesman for the force added: "The man pictured was using the pedestrian crossing on Bridge Street when an altercation took place with the driver of a red Mini Cooper.

"The Mini driver was hit in the leg by her car door, causing bruising."

Police would like to speak to the man pictured by CCTV, or anyone who was in the area at the time who witnessed the incident.
