A BUDDING landscape photographer is the latest winner of The Press Camera Club monthly competition after she snapped a unique view of an autumnal scene.
Karen Boyes, of Vine Street, York, won the competition with her photograph of trees in Burnby Hall Gardens, in Pocklington, which was shot using a crystal ball as a lens.
Her prize was a canvas print of her winning image, supplied by The Press Camera Club sponsors Jessops, in Coney Street, York, and a cheque for £50.
She said: “Photography is a hobby which I’ve been interested in since 2010. I was very surprised because this was my first submission.
“I was thrilled when the picture was in the paper and delighted to win the competition.”
Karen, a staff nurse, used an Olympus OM-D E-M1 camera and a £16 crystal ball to capture the scene.
