AN APARTHOTEL in York has tried to make all its members of staff feel welcome over the festive period with its window display for the city’s giant living advent calender.
Staycity’s York complex, in Paragon Street, unveiled its festive display yesterday, featuring a six-foot Santa holding a scroll.
The scroll has the phrase ‘Merry Christmas’ written on it in 10 different languages spoken by staff who work at the aparthotel.
Lynsey Austin, from Staycity, said: “We have a lot of different nationalities who work with us here at Staycity. A lot of them have main family members back home. We want to make them feel as welcome and at home at Staycity as possible over the festive period.”
The aparthotel is the 13th business to reveal its window display as part of the living advent calendar initiative. Businesses across York are taking part. Today, it is the turn of the Fancy Dance shop in Micklegate.
