SELBY Lions young ambassador, Jemima Browning came out top in the district competition and now qualifies for the national finals in February.
Jemima, 16, is a pupil at Tadcaster Grammar School and lives in Stutton. She is involved with work in the community, including disability sport, Stingrays Swim Squad in Tadcaster, and also has also worked with a special Olympian.
In her community work, she is helped by her 15 year old brother Will, who has Down Syndrome, and her sister Tabitha.
She said: “I am now looking forward to the next challenge in February, and I’m hoping to bring the national title back for the Selby Lions.”
Selby Lions youth officer Dave Clark said: “It is a great success for Jemima and puts Selby Lions on the map.”
In the picture, Jemima receives a cheque for £200 for her community work from Selby Lions president Marianne Holmes.
