FESTIVE favourite It’s A Wonderful Life will be shown on the big screen at the Yorkshire Museum, Museum Gardens, York, on Thursday but the deadline for bookings passed at 9am this morning.

Frank Capra's heart-warming film will be shown in the 300-seat Tempest Anderson Hall, where a festive buffet and a glass of mulled cider will be served beforehand at 7pm. The wearing of Christmas jumpers, Father Christmas hats and festive dress is encouraged.

Eve Haynes, weddings and events assistant manager, says: "The story of George Bailey being saved on Christmas Eve by his guardian angel is a true Christmas classic. This is a rare opportunity to get into the Christmas spirit by tucking into a festive buffet with friends or family before settling down to watch the film on the big screen."
