RONNIE and Reggie have been prowling the streets York - but it wasn’t anything sinister.
The pair - actually Friesian horses named after the notorious Kray twins - were providing free carriage rides, courtesy of the Grand Hotel in Station Rise.
And if you did have any concerns then their deputies might have been reassuring - named Judge and Jury.
Coachman James Hanson, who with his son Morgan, was up on the box with the reins, said: “It’s about tradition and it doesn’t get better than coming to York. It’s like going back in time.”
Alessandra Gritt, for the hotel, said: “We thought about what could give our visitors a little bit more of the Christmas spirit.”
Ronnie and Reggie started the rides on Saturday before being replaced by Judge and Jury.
Alessandra added: “Everyone is coming into York for the Ice Festival and we thought it would be a lovely addition.”
