A MAN was brought down from the roof of a property in York city centre and arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary.
North Yorkshire Police said it was contacted at 7.40pm yesterday to reports of a man on the roof of a property in Stonegate near the Trembling Madness pub.
Stonegate and parts of High Petergate and Low Petergate were closed to allow police to deal with the incident.
A police spokeswoman said: "Fire and ambulance both attended and the man was successfully brought down from the roof at 9.01pm.
"A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and remains in police custody."
