POLICE have re-opened the A64 in both directions after a serious crash between a car and a tanker on the dual carriageway.
The road was shut between Whitwell on the Hill and Malton at 3pm, close to the westbound junction with Crambeck.
A man was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, by air ambulance with injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
Traffic was diverted off the road and motorists were urged to find alternative routes.
