Your front page story on conditions in a care home in Stamford Bridge (Police probe allegations at care home, November 21) beggars belief. Do older vulnerable people in 2017 have to be subject to the abuse and lack of care discovered by inspectors from the Care Quality Commission?
This home, owned and mismanaged by Barchester Care, is one of 200 run by the same company across the country. Rated as “inadequate” by the inspectors, it is an absolute disgrace.
Surely the owners should be prosecuted for allowing these conditions to exist. A restaurant displaying similar unhygienic conditions would be before the courts.
Older people deserve better.
