Normally the shadow chancellor replies in Parliament to the Budget, yet this time Jeremy Corbyn did the job.

The shadow chancellor, John McDonnell, was interviewed an hour later, and it was obvious why the Labour leader felt he couldn't allow him anywhere near a camera. McDonnell's interview was a disaster. Asked about his policy of borrowing £500 billion extra, he blustered, threatened, and was audibly incoherent when politely asked to justify this enormous extra debt.

With these wild spending and borrowing policies, which will be minutely picked over at the next election, there is no way that this spendthrift will ever get the keys to the Treasury. Cuddly Corbyn will not be able to hide the catastrophe to our economy that his chancellor would surely inflict.
