THE year's first frost; mountain bikers at Kilburn Woods; an inquisitive horse; and Shambles at three in the morning, looking emptier than you'll ever have seen it. Just some of the many great images that members of The Press Camera Club have posted in the last couple of days.

We have included eight club members' photographs on these pages - though we've studiously avoided entries for this month's Press Camera Club competition (theme #abstract) so as not to queer the pitch for Press photographer Frank Dwyer, who will be picking the winner next week.

There are some great images here, nevertheless. Tim Rigg's 'You go away for three days and they all fall down together' perfectly captures the spirit of autumn. And while not entered in the #abstract competition, Nick Fletcher's artful black and white photograph of York Railway Station does make the station seem wonderfully ... well, abstract. As for Linda Ullathorne's friendly horse... you can almost feel the warm, moist breath huffing out of his (her?) nostrils in greeting...
