A SELBY man has been fined for urinating in the street.
Selby District Council prosecuted Mieczyslaw Polak, age 32, of Primrose Grove, Selby, at York Magistrates court on Tuesday.
Polak was found guilty in his absence of urinating in a public place contrary to the Byelaw for Good Rule & Government made under Section 235 of the Local Government Act 1972.
The court heard Polak was caught urinating in Flaxley Road, Selby, in August, and the council brought the prosecution in an effort to stamp out antisocial behaviour of this type.
He was fined £220, ordered to pay a surcharge of £30 and ordered to pay the council’s costs of £457.50, a total of £707.50, for the offence.
