THE headmaster of a York school has announced he is leaving.
Leo Winkley, head of St Peter’s School, will be leaving York at the end of the current academic year after eight years in the post, after being appointed headmaster of Shrewsbury School, where he will take up his new role in September 2018.
Bill Woolley, chairman of the St Peter's board of governors, said: "We will miss the excellent leadership that has made St Peter's such a strong institution, providing such outstanding education to our pupils. At the same time we congratulate him on his new role, and wish him every success in his new venture."
Recruitment for a new head is underway.
