A MAN was badly hurt in an attack in North Yorkshire.
Police said the assault happened at an address in Longwestgate, Scarborough, at about 3.30pm on Friday.
The 27-year-old local man was found in an alleyway at the junction of Cooks Row and Princess Square at about 3.45pm the same day.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "He was taken to hospital by ambulance with a serious head injury. He is in a serious condition but not believed to be life-threatening."
The spokesman added: "Two local women, aged 39 and 38, were arrested in connection with the incident. Following questioning they were released under investigation while inquiries continue."
