THE Treasurer’s House in York has been transformed for an Edwardian Christmas, with festive crafting and seasonal home-cooked treats.

The period rooms of the historic property near York Minster have been decorated with garlands, wreaths and fireplace floral displays, with a tree in the Great Hall.

Little ones can go to an attic grotto to visit Father Christmas, listen to storytime and receive a gift on a weekend in December, and visitors can make their own Christmas tree decorations to take home with them.

The house is open from 11am to 4.30pm, from Thursday to Sunday, until December 17, with last admission at 4pm. Normal admission charges apply or free entry to National Trust members.
