GREEN-FINGERED residents have their final chance of the year to use City of York Council’s garden waste collections over the next fortnight, starting tomorrow.
Autumn leaves, cuttings and windfall fruit can go in the green wheelie bins and will be collected one more time before the service is suspended for the winter, resuming on Easter Monday, April 2.
A council spokesman said that anyone who missed the last collection could still take their waste to York’s two household waste recycling centres, which will remain open every day except Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. He added that households had received new rubbish and recycling calendars.
