Caravan destroyed by fire
A CARAVAN has been completely destroyed by fire in a North Yorkshire field.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said crews from Whitby, Goathland and Lythe found the caravan well alight on arriving at the field in Coach Road, Sleights, at 10.30pm last night.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze with a hose and cooled three cylinders. No one was hurt.
A spokeswoman said the fire was thought to have been caused by a faulty gas fire.
