JON Richardson, that "old man" off the telly, is coming to York tonight night to complain about the state of the world and offer no solutions alas at his sold-out Barbican bash.

Since his last tour show, this British Comedy Award nominee and star of Channel 4's 8 Out Of 10 Cats has become a husband and father, seen the UK vote to leave the EU and watched the Presidential rise of Donald Trump, all of which leaves Richardson asking one question: "Why does it seem that no one else alive can correctly load a dishwasher?"

Tonight offers the chance to find out what TV panellist Jon Richardson can do with words when he has more than 30 seconds to work with. "Or should that be 'with which to work'?," he asks in his second vexatious question of the day.

The 35-year-old Lancaster stand-up has headed across the Pennines on plenty of occasions to play York: among them, The Other Side Comedy Club at City Screen, June and December 2007; Hyena Lounge Comedy Club, City Screen, July 2010; York Theatre Royal, April 2011; his Funny Magnet tour, York Barbican, November 2012, and his Nidiot tour, York Barbican, October 2014.

Tonight's 8pm show carries a 14-plus Parental Guidance wearing as there is likely to be swearing and adult content. Maybe Richardson should put himself in that dishwasher!
