CITIZENS Advice York is running more money saving workshops over the coming weeks.

Advisers will be on hand to help people switch energy providers and save money through the winter.

Events will be held on Tuesday, November 28 from 9.30am-12pm at Huntington Community Centre; Tuesday, December 5 from 10am-2pm at Clifton Explore Library; Tuesday, January 16 from 10.30am-12.30pm at Acomb Explore Library; Tuesday, January 30 10.30am-1pm at Oaken Grove Community Centre, Haxby; and Tuesday, February 6 from 11am-2pm at The Hub in Ellerbys Restaurant, York Hospital.

People are urged to go along with their energy bills for help to find the best energy supplier and save money, and for advice on loft and cavity wall insulation grants.

Energy Adviser Janet Thompson said people save on average £230 a year, and switching is easier than they think.

She added: “Many people are reluctant to switch energy supplier and will stick with the same company for years, even if they could save money elsewhere.

"Citizens Advice York is here to help."
