EX FORCES personnel over the age of 65 are being invited to 'come out and play' as part of a new project in Thirsk.
Thanks to funding from the Armed Forces Community Covenant fund, the ‘Primetime’ programme is starting next week.
It will use low intensity sport such as Boccia and New Age Curling to help tackle loneliness and isolation, and encourage people to get together in their communities.
Sessions take place in the Church Hall, St James Green, Thirsk every Thursday 9.30am – 11.15am, starting on November 16 and cost £2. For information contact Joe McKechnie on 01609 767261 or joe.mckechnie@hambleton.gov.uk.
