A STRENSALL man has donated his prize money from a village talent competition to a charity which helps older people keep their pets.
Brian Whur has long been one of the staunchest supporters of York organisation Keep Your Pet so when he was a prizewinner in "Has Strensall Got Talent?" he had no hesitation in donating his prize money to charity.
Each competitor had nominated a charity to receive a donation from the event proceeds, and Brian’s singing and performing on the harmonica impressed the judges.
The event is organised by churches in Strensall as part of the "Believe in Strensall” initiative.
Brian raised £288.50 and handed a cheque over to Sally Hutchinson, Chief Officer of Age UK York, on behalf of Keep Your Pet.
