A GROUP supporting disabled and homeless musicians will perform on stage at the Barbican.

Members of Tang Hall Smart will be at the York venue on Saturday, with pieces performed by children, teens and adults who have learning disabilities - including one by Jonny-The- Wolf- Mottram, a rapper with Down’s syndrome.

Resistance, a band which includes people with a homeless background, will also sing, along with D-Ni-L, an experimental rapper who came to the group struggling with addiction and ended up as the music director.

Sue Williamson, CEO of Tang Hall Smart Community Interest Company, said: “We are so grateful to the council for awarding us this day at York Barbican so we can showcase some of the diversity of talent we work with.

“Everyone is very excited about this event.

“Friends and supporters, plus people interested in seeing the kind of things we do, will be able to see us in real style!”
