PICKERING Town were dumped out of the FA Vase by visiting Northern League side Newcastle Benfield, who turned around a two-goal deficit to win 4-3 after extra-time.

Russ Parker and Danny Gray goals – both from Ryan Blott assists – put the Pikes ahead, but a Paul Brayson effort on the stroke of half-time gave Benfield a lifeline.

Five minutes into the second period, Brayson scooped the ball over keeper Harry Andrews for the equaliser, before Joe Danby restored Town’s slender lead.

Brayson completed his hat-trick, levelling matters again with an 81st-minute penalty, and Dylan McEvoy got the winner right at the end of the first period of extra-time.

Selby Town beat Worsbrough Bridge Athletic 4-1 to move into fifth in the Northern Counties East League division one.

Chris Walton opened the scoring for the visitors, whose lead was cancelled out just five minutes later by Joe Dale.

The second half opened with two quick-fire Liam Flanagan goals, before Joe Dale got his second.

Both sides saw red as Knaresborough Town progressed to the second round of the FA Vase with a 3-2 win at Garforth Town after extra-time.

Goals from Ben Cohen and Blaine Hobson put Knaresborough two up before the break, but a Daniel Coupland strike midway through the second period brought Garforth back into the game.

Simon Parkes was sent off soon after, and substitute Jamie Reeson got the equaliser in injury time.

Gregg Anderson scored the winner in the first period of extra-time, while Jack McMurrough was dismissed for the hosts in the second.

Harrogate Railway Athletic were thrashed 10-1 at Sunderland Ryhope Colliery Welfare in the FA Vase, Albert Ibrahimi with the visitors’ only reply.

National League North leaders Harrogate Town drew 2-2 at home to Leamington, whose Junior English scored for both sides.

English broke the deadlock, but George Thomson levelled for Town before half-time. Ten minutes into the second period, English turned Joe Leesley’s cross into his own net, before Leamington were awarded a penalty in the 70th minute for a high boot, converted by Rob Thompson-Brown.
