THREE people were arrested for growing cannabis and money laundering when police hit the streets to tackle antisocial behaviour.

Teams of officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Teams, Firearms Support Unit and the Dogs Section visited Harrogate, Ripon, Knaresborough and Boroughbridge and visited 190 premises and handed out 177 burglary packs.

The fire service visited 18 antisocial behaviour hot spots and seven youth action forms were completed and a cannabis warning was issued following a stop and search.

Those arrested included a 50-year-old man and two women aged 56 and 26.

They have been released under investigation.

Sgt Paul Evans said: “We were also able to engage with communities and businesses to educate them around some serious issues affecting those who are more vulnerable in our communities such as modern slavery and child sexual exploitation. Officers visited 10 hotels in Harrogate throughout the day to talk to staff about the signs they need to look out for so we can all play a part in keeping people safe.”
