THOUSANDS of people are expected to flock to the Yorkshire showground for Countryside Live this weekend.

TV vets Julian Norton and Peter Wright will headline The Yorkshire Vet at Countryside Live as visitors head to the Harrogate showground this Saturday and Sunday. Tickets will still be available on the gate for both days, prices start at £14 for adults and £7 for children.

Peter and Julian have said they are overwhelmed by the response of fans to the event. Julian said: “If you’d have said a few years ago that we would be taking the centre stage of the Main Ring and headlining and event like this, we would never have believed you.”

Three live Yorkshire Vet shows hosted by local BBC radio personality Georgey Spanswick will be in the Main Ring each day at 10.30am, 1pm and 3pm with Peter and Julian as special guests.

Sales have more than doubled for the event, as Visitors travel from Scotland, Wales and Lincolnshire.

Nigel Pulling, Chief executive of Yorkshire Agricultural Society said: “We have seen a phenomenal boom in tickets since we announced our Partnership with The Yorkshire Vet and Channel 5.”

Channel 5’s Milkshake! Live show will be there for children as well as a pop up country pub, The Dovers Arms and live acoustic music.

The show is the only in the UK to run a Talented Showjumper competition for riders 10+. Qualifiers take place on Saturday and the final will be on Sunday.

The show will see a record number of horses entered in classes, with over 450 entries this year.

They will also host the National Championships for the British Farriers and Blacksmiths association.

Over 2,000 animals will converge on the show ground this year.

There will also be a tasting hub, cookery theatre and a create and explore area with hands on activities for children.
