A MOPED rider has been injured and taken to hospital after a crash with a heavy goods vehicle in York this morning.
It happened at about 8.05am on the A1237 outer ring road at Upper Poppleton, on the roundabout near the junction to the A59.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "It is believed the black Honda moped was overtaking a line of stationary traffic when the collision occurred with the white and blue Scania HGV."
The rider, a 19-year-old man from York, was taken by ambulance to York Hospital with leg injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, the spokesman added.
He also said the scene was clear by 9.30am.
The collision caused rush hour delays for motorists.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
