THIRTEEN sunken boats have been pulled out of the River Hull.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council removed the boats from the river between Tickton and Beverley last month, to ease the flow of water and help prevent floods. The works was funded by the council and the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership.
Council cabinet member Symon Fraser thanked contractors who went "above and beyond" by lifting 10 boats as planned, and finding and removing three more unknown wrecks.
