IT may be time to get out the barbecue for one final meal this weekend, as a mid-October mini-heatwave arrives in York and North Yorkshire.

Temperatures look set to soar as high as 19 or 20 Centigrade, or the upper 60s Fahrenheit, from tomorow until Monday, with a good chance of sunshine later on Saturday and on Sunday and Monday after cloudy weather tomorrow and on Saturday morning.

But it will also be breezy at times, making it feel a little less mild in exposed places.

The warm air is being blown to Britain from the Mediterranean on southerly winds caused by high pressure to the east and low pressure to the west.
