TWO York pubs look likely to get protected "community asset" status from a senior city councillor next week.
Both the Blue Bell on Fossgate and the Old Ebor on Nunnery Lane have been nominated as assets of community value (ACVs).
Council leader David Carr will decide next week whether to grant the status, but officials have already recommended that it is given to both pubs. If it goes ahead, ACV listing will give locals the chance to raise money and buy the pubs before a commercial buyer.
