NO ENTRY
MOTORISTS faced chaos on the North York Moors as an accident blocked the A169 today (Sunday, October 1).
The major road was closed from Saltergate north of Pickering to the southern Goathland turn-off mid-afternoon. It reopened at about 6pm.
Diverted traffic jammed the narrow moorland Stape to Egton Bridge road.
The A169 was closed for much of the afternoon and into the evening as emergency services dealt with the incident.
No further details about the accident are yet available.
