RESIDENTS are being invited to discover York’s sporting heritage, share memories and view memorabilia at a special event today.
Discover York’s Sporting Heritage day is open from 1pm to 5pm at the York St John sports park on Haxby Road and will offer the chance to watch past games from the city’s archives and look at memorabilia.
Following a recent surge in interest in walking sports, people will be able to try walking
football, netball and rugby following a recent surge in interest.
The free event is organised by City of York Council’s Yorwellbeing service in partnership with York City FC, York City Knights, and the city’s archives.
