A CYCLIST sustained serious injuries in a collision with a car in North Yorkshire.
It happened at around 8.50pm yesterday, on the A59 in Harrogate, at the traffic light-controlled junction of Skipton Road and Woodfield Road.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: "The cyclist, a local man in his 40s, was seriously injured and was taken to hospital.
"The cyclist travelling on Skipton Road in the direction of the Empress roundabout was in a collision with a silver Renault Clio as it turned right from Skipton Road into Woodfield Road."
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash, or anyone who saw the manner of driving/riding prior to it to get in touch. Anyone with dashcam footage is also encouraged to contact police.
