MILKING cow Eve had a day out to a school playground to demonstrate where pupils' milk comes from.
The two-year-old made a moo-ving guest appearance at St Barnabas Church Of England Primary School in York for World School Milk Day yesterday.
Travelling with farmer Paul Tompkins, Eve was the star of a Milking Live! event while the farmer explained the benefits of the white stuff, packed with calcium, iodine and vitamins.
“It’s a real tradition in our primary schools that youngsters have the chance to enjoy a glass of milk on a daily basis," he said.
"It’s free for younger children and is subsidised for older pupils.
" Eve is a very laid-back individual, who took her outing in her stride.”
Head teacher Karen Boardman added: "The children loved meeting Eve. They were fascinated and it brought their learning about milk to life."
