TWO junctions with ageing traffic lights are set to be upgraded by workmen next month.
City of York Council will revamp the junction of York Road with Carr Lane and the Thanet Road crossing near Foxwood Lane, starting on Monday, October 2.
The lights at the junction of York Road and Carr lane will be fully refurbished and the crossing will also be widened to meet current safety standards.
The Thanet Road crossing near Foxwood Lane will see the separate pedestrian and cyclist crossing replaced with a shared Toucan crossing.
The footpath and cycleway near to the crossing will also be relayed.
Work at the York Road and Thanet Road crossing will take place from 7.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, with workers in place at York Road from 9 am to 3pm on Saturday and from 8am to 3pm in Thanet Road.
