MORE than 300 people attended a beer festival to mark the 90th anniversary of Riccall Village Institute.

The institute, which is regularly used by various village organisations, was built by local tradesmen who carried out the work for free with materials costing £1,000.

The land in Station Road was donated by local farmer Thomas Horner, and one of the beers on sale at this year's event was named Tom's Ale in his honour.

There were 15 beers, ciders, lagers and a Prosecco bar, with live music and Raffi's Spice Box providing a selection of curries at the event on Saturday, September 16.
