THE Ivy Collection restaurant set to open in November in St Helen's Square has announced it will be the main sponsor for the annual St Leonard’s Hospice Light Up A Life campaign this year.. The Ivy St Helen’s Square has launched a competition at the hospice, asking patients, staff, volunteers and all of their families to design a Christmas bauble.

A total of 350 porcelain baubles featuring the winning design will be produced, and unveiled at the charity’s service in St Helen’s Square on Sunday, December 3.

The limited edition baubles will be sold at The Ivy St Helen’s Square and St Leonard’s Hospice shops, including the new oulet on Fossgate,

The St Leonard’s Hospice Light up a Life appeal invites people to dedicate a light on a Christmas tree in memory of a loved one. There will be four Christmas trees, including the one in St Helen’s Square, next to The Ivy York.

Jon Pinner, general manager at The Ivy St Helen’s Square said: “We are delighted to be helping such a great local cause by lighting up the wonderful St Helen’s Square for all the York community to enjoy.

“We look forward to seeing the designs and then creating a beautiful bauble to help St Leonard’s Hospice continue the fantastic work they do in the local area. We hope everyone loves the baubles and will buy one either for themselves or as a gift for a loved one this year.”

Dawn Clements,director of fundraising at St Leonard’s Hospice, said: “We are excited to be working with The Ivy York and it’s great to see a restaurant new to York pledging its support for a long-standing charity that is of great importance to the local community."
