POLICE in York are now appealing for help to identify two men who are suspected of conning cash from the Primark store at Monks Cross.

The incident happened at around 6.35pm on July 24 this year.

The men approached a till with a small value item which they were going to pay for with coins.

When the till is opened, one of the men asked to change small banks notes. The cashier agrees and an exchange takes place.

At this point it is believed the man used a sleight of hand technique to conceal some notes in his hand, before changing the new notes back. This is sometimes referred to as “ringing the changes”.

If you can help identify the men, contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Nikki Jackson or email Nikki.Jackson@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
