A LANDMARK riverside building in York city centre is on sale for £12 million.

Ryedale House, in Piccadilly, is being marketed by Savills Leeds with the intention of creating a new apartment building.

The eight storey site, on the banks of the Foss, is said to have “spectacular views of York Minster”, and the posting comes after planning permission was submitted to City of York Council to transform the former office building into more than 70 new apartments.

Matthew Jones, director in the development team at Savills Leeds, said: “Ryedale House’s redevelopment is central to achieving City of York Council’s regeneration vision and not only does it benefit from prior approval for 77 apartments under office to residential conversion, it also offers significant redevelopment potential to student accommodation or hotel use.”
