THE A1 northbound in North Yorkshire has reopened after a serious crash this morning.
The carriageway was closed between junction 48 (Boroughbridge) and junction 49 (Dishforth) after a collision involving two lorries. North Yorkshire Police confirmed at about 1.30pm that the road had reopened.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "There is approx 5 to 6 miles of stationary traffic northbound towards J48 so traffic may take some time to disperse."
Police were called to the collision at about 5am.
