THE developers behind one of York's newest attractions have posted an exciting new video showing it's creation.

Cranes have been lowering former shipping containers onto the former Reynards Garage site for weeks, as part of the Spark:York development.

Today, the official Spark:York Twitter feed uploaded a time-lapse video of the containers being lowered into place, which contains some eye-watering shots looking down from top of the crane.

Soon, the empty, metal containers will decked out with a variety of food stalls and offices to give small businesses a chance of finding work space in the city centre.

Although the plans have attracted criticism from some who claimed the shipping container building would be unsightly in a historic area, or favouring food and drink over business space, the development was backed by 500 people and City of York Council’s Planning Committee.

An exact opening date has yet to be announced, but Spark:York have previously said the site could be ready for business in October.
