A MIXED media artist will be launching a new exhibition of his striking 3D paintings at a gallery in East Yorkshire at the weekend.

Edward Waite will be at The Acorn Gallery in Pocklington's Market Place tomorrow to mark the start of his Lines of a City exhibition.

The 28-year-old, from Lincoln, has been a professional artist for five years. The Acorn Gallery's owner Diane Wass first saw his work in 2012 and the gallery has worked with him ever since.

Diane said: "There is something strikingly energetic about Edward’s cityscapes that makes you stop and pay attention."

Edward has been fortunate enough to sketch his way around the world, filling his sketch books with inspiration from cities in all four corners of the globe.

His technique of swirling lines of paint was discovered in a New York diner and Edward still uses this method today.

Edward will be at The Acorn Gallery this Saturday from 11am. The exhibition will run until September 30.
