A CANDLE is believed to have set fire to curtains in a bedroom of a student house in York.
Firefighters were called to the fire in Falsgrave Crescent, Clifton, at about 8.55am today.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Curtains caught fire due to an unattended candle."
Nobody was injured and the fire was contained to the bedroom, the service added.
The room suffered some fire and smoke damage.
Crews tackled the fire using one hose reel and breathing apparatus. They then ventilated the house with a positive pressure ventilation fan.
