JACK Brooks took four wickets during the second morning to help Yorkshire limit the damage done by three Surrey centurions at The Oval.

Kumar Sangakkara and Ben Foakes both completed hundreds before lunch to go with Mark Stoneman's 131 yesterday.

The hosts advanced from 398-3 to 543-7, with Yorkshire claiming just one bowling bonus point.

Brooks struck twice in two balls in the 117th over, getting Sangakkara caught at long leg for 164 and Ollie Pope snared at second slip for a golden duck.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore took a particularly smart catch diving to his left to get rid of Pope as the score fell to 513-5.

Brooks then bowled Sam Curran (5) as the score fell to 531-6 in the 123rd over. Sandwiched in between, Foakes had reached his ton off 166 balls.

Nine runs later, Brooks had Foakes caught behind for 110 to make it 540-7, with the White Rose seamer having taken five wickets in an innings for the first time this season.
