YORK Bus Forum are seeking speedy action from City of York Council to replace the withdrawn buses from Naburn and other rural areas.

It is always the poor and needy who are most impacted by poor bus services.

Why should pensioners have to pay £40 or more for taxis to hospital and back?

The situation has been going on for two weeks since the collapse of Utopia Buses.

It stems basically from privatisation and the impact of austerity upon the council.

It seems that North Yorkshire County Council has devised a sticking-plaster solution that helps some areas, but that does not help Naburn because they are over the border within the City of York.

But we are not interested in sticking-plaster solutions. We need something more permanent. And we need it now.
