WHAT are the odds of this?
Two York sisters have been born exactly two years apart – not only on the same day but within less than an hour of each other.
Vienna Beau Langford was born at York Hospital at 5.15am last Saturday, September 2.
Her big sister Liberty Raine was born at the same hospital at 6.36am on the same date in 2015.
Their mum, Vicky Richardson, 27, of Barley Rise, Strensall, said staff at the maternity unit could not believe the coincidence. "They were amazed," she said.
She said Vienna was born 11 days later than her due date - almost as if she was waiting for her sister's birthday.
She said her partner Joel's mother Susan had said at the start that she thought Vienna would arrive on her sister's birthday, but she, Vicky, had thought it really unlikely. "Her due date was August 22," she said.
"But then the days went by and I thought, yes she's hanging on to steal the limelight by arriving that day!"
Vicky said that she and her partner Joel Langford were obviously unable to organise a second birthday party for Liberty on Saturday, and so held a delayed one this week.
Now they would look to hold a super double party in future years for the two siblings.
