THREE goals in the first half – two from Danny Frost and one from Tom Corner – sent Tadcaster Albion up to third in Evo-Stik League division one north with a 3-0 win over Goole.

Andy Milne recovered from a nasty head gash in the win over Brighouse but Josh Barrett started his three-game suspension so Jason Mycoe filled in at the back.

It took just six minutes for Michael Morton's side to break the deadlock as, after a goal-kick from Goole keeper Sam Leigh, the ball was in the back of his net within 10 seconds.

Aiden Savory powerfully headed back over the defence, Tom Corner raced down the left and Danny Frost scored from his cross.

Taddy looked dangerous in every attack.

It should have been 2-0 after eight minutes but Corner's close-range effort was superbly kept out by Leigh.

The towering figure of Sam Colbear looked like Goole's biggest weapon, and he tested Ingham with a close-range effort from a corner.

Taddy's second goal soon arrived, however, as Conor Sellars' deep corner was nodded down by Milne, and Frost was in the right place to turn the ball home.

Taddy were dominant in all areas, and a third goal was thoroughly deserved after 23 minutes.

Corner tried his luck from 25 yards and, while he didn't catch it cleanly, the ball squeezed into the bottom corner following a slight nick off Sellars' ankle.

The visitors introduced former Brewer Steve Jeff at the break, whereas Taddy brought on Aaron Hardy for Josh Grant, who was on a booking.

Goole started the second half with more fight and bite and had more possession.

A short back-pass from Milne gave Colbear a golden chance to score but Michael Ingham stood tall and kept his clean sheet.

Albion were getting into brilliant areas time and again, but their final shot was missing.

At the other end, Sellars set Frost away in behind, and he drove to the by-line and fired across goal, Corner unable to turn the ball past Leigh.

Frost was doing all he could to complete his hat-trick, and probably should have had it.

The striker drove into the box before cutting onto his favoured right foot but could only fire tamely at Leigh.

Savory thought he had his fifth goal of the campaign midway through the half.

Corner's cross was perfect for Savory to divert a diving header into the net but the linesman's flag was raised.

Sellars continued to thread in the three forwards – on this occasion it was Corner, but Jeff put in a super block.

Goole had the chance for a consolation in stoppage time as Chris Howarth upended Marcus Edwards. But the experienced striker blazed the penalty way over.
