GAZETTE & Herald columnist Sarah Walker is going on Radio 4's weekly magazine show 'Saturday Live' tomorrow to talk about her Countryman's Daughter columns.

Sarah is the daughter of former Gazette columnist Peter Walker, a writer and author who had also been a policeman; the TV show 'Heartbeat' was based on his stories.

Sarah's 'Countryman's Daughter' columns delve into her father's huge body of work, including the 30+ year archive of his newspaper columns.

Sarah said she was delighted at the interest in the project, and that she's had lots of positive feedback.

"The most surprising thing about it all is that I feel like I'm getting to know my dad all over again, rediscovering long-forgotten family memories and maintaining a kind of connection with him that I just assumed I'd lose once he died," she said.

"It's a privilege to have that, and is helping me cope with the grief I'm feeling in the wake of his death."

Saturday Live, presented by Rev. Richard Coles and Aasmah Mir, will air tomorrow at 9am.
